Der Ex-Soldat Tim “Nailer” Foley und seine paramilitärische Gruppe patrouillieren schwerbewaffnet an der mexikanischen Grenze. Auch sie haben das Vertrauen in ihren Staat verloren und jagen auf eigene Faust nach Drogenschmugglern. Im äußerst brutalen Kampf der Bürgerwehren gegen die Kartelle stellt sich bald schon die Frage: Wo verläuft die Grenze zwischen Gut und Böse?
